Through My Eyes: Carmen Marc Valvo F/W 2016 Collection
As some of you may know, I started my career as a fashion designer -- so, fashion is always near and dear to my heart. Often I relate interior design to fashion because both industries creatively employ beautiful colors, patterns and prints to make unique statements.
Ah, a game of charades. From Hollywood regency to bold gilded strokes and patterns re-interpreted upon canvases reminiscent of an old James Bond flick, the Carmen Marc Valvo F/W 2016 show was an invite to an exclusive Gatsby fête.
Brocade designs woven onto opulent suits with delicate touches of flower stitching are reminiscent of spaces Ive designed with flower arrangements and drapery that falls beautifully -- all with a glowing New York city backdrop in the distance.
The chair shown in the image above was designed for Robert Allen, one of my favorite furnishing companies. With a unique pattern and dark, mysterious element the same sexy, elegant vibe came through to me from this black brocade and lace pant suit by Carmen Marc Valvo.
