Translating Trends: Animal Prints
Bold animal prints are statements that are always in style! Keep animal prints fresh by incorporating them into your home in surprising or unexpected ways. Don't be afraid to mix different animal prints, but be very careful not to go overboard! Mix the basic black and white of zebra with a more colorful animal print, for example. Try accent pieces like pillows, wall hangings, chairs, ottomans or vases. Use leopard print fabric as contrasting trim on an occasional chair or pony hide tiles as an elegant wall detail. Try a snakeskin print lampshade for a hint of cool, or brighten up any room with faux animal prints in a variety of bold colors. Check out this leopard print chair; it adds just enough print to liven up the space. Since it is paired with a mirror chest, the print reflects and incorporates into the chest, too! The simple design and intricate details of the legs and arms add a touch of class and elegance without taking away from or adding to the bold pattern.
This peacock inspired wallpaper from Refinery29 is gorgeous! The bright color and design of the peacock feathers add depth and dimension to this wall...it's almost like a hologram. If you go bold with a wallpaper, play down the other pieces in the space so they don't overwhelm the eye. Notice the bird statues sitting on the marble mantle. They incorporate the colors of both the wall and the marble, but they don't clash with the wall. Very nice touch!
Let your imagination go wild!
