House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Year
Look out! House Beautiful is stopping pedestrians in their tracks with their annual Kitchen of the Year event! That means that if you happen to be strolling down Rockefeller Plaza in the next few days, you’ll find yourself face-to-face with a fully functioning, super chic kitchen installation, courtesy of designer Mick de Giulio and a devoted team that spent two weeks bringing the vision to life. Most events are open to the public, so head on over and cozy up on the back patio! Watch on as an all-star chef (tonight, it’s the esteemed Todd English) wows the crowd with a culinary demonstration. Yesterday, I caught Luke and Ben from Luke’s Lobster. What a show!
From the left, Newell Turner, Editor-In-Chief; Kate Kelly Smith, SVP & Publishing Director at Hearst Design Group; Ann Feldstein, Senior Director Marketing and Communication at Kravet; and Mick de GiulioPersonally, I can’t get enough of this dining table, which is part of Kravet’s new modern dining collection. And oh…that light fixture. How ME is that? See how spacious the countertop looks? I think my favorite part, though, was the way this stone wall turned out over the mantlepiece. Don’t you just love it? I love celebrating modern design trends! Especially when it means being able to chat with fellow innovators and super cool designers. I’m already excited for next year’s kitchen!
