Design Insider: What's New What's Next at the New York Design Center
Hello Fabulistas! What's New What's Next was the latest, greatest event at the New York Design Center at 200 Lexington Ave. Jim Druckman has truly made the NYDC a real destination for the design market. Whats New Whats Next had a great turnout last Thursday. The day was filled with fabulous events and it was incredible to see so many people come out in support of the industry.
Currey & Co. hosted a wonderful event in honor of the Ronald McDonald House of LI, Project Design 2014. Here were just a few people that I ran into at the event.
Suzanne Costa, Chair of RMHLI Project 2014
some of the Project Design 2014 designers
Jennifer Nicholson of RMHLI with my story board for my Project Design 2014 room
my team Yudi Kaufman and Kelly Irvolino with Jennifer Nicholson of RMHLI
The fun didnt stop at the Currey & Co. cocktail party. During the afternoon and evening I ran into many people I knew at all of the showroom events. Here I am with Aerin Lauder, who just launched her new Aerin collection at the brand new E.J. Victor showroom. For me, gold is the new black! Here I am with part of Aerins new collection. It looked so glam and inviting I couldnt resist! Im a big supporter of Kravet, so I had to go see Jeffrey Alan Marks speak in their showroom. He has a collection of fabrics he designed exclusively for the company. You may recognize him from Bravos Million Dollar Decorators! One of my many personal highlights was stopping by The New Traditionalists showroom, where I saw my friend Mollie OConnor and CEO Philip Erdoes. They always throw a great party or on this day, three to be exact! Here we are at the Moroccan-themed festivity. Their parties may be great, but its their furniture that keeps me coming back! Hickory Chair | Pearson unveiled their newly designed showroom for this event. It was beautiful congratulations! Whats New Whats Next was a fantastic event. I cant wait to see how NYDC is going to top it next year!
