Hello Fabulistas! I hope you’re enjoying your Labor Day vacation. There are so many exciting things going on this month and I’m ready to dip into fall! Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week September is always a fabulous and fashionable month in New York City with the arrival of fashion week! This year’s spring shows last from September 2-15. All the excitement isn’t in the tents, though. Street style is as influential as any looks that make their way down the runway. I love to look at fashion for interior design inspiration. They go hand in hand!

NYC Broadway Week

Perhaps Fashion Week isn’t quite your speed? To each his or her own! Let’s not forget that NYC Broadway Week is also happening September 2-15. You can buy 2-for-1 tickets for lots of fab shows, including one of my favorites, Phantom of the Opera. If you like chandeliers, you’ll love this musical!

Nate Berkus for Target Fall 2013

This isn’t the interior designer’s first collection for the mass retailer, but you sure can’t call it a sophomore slump! I love the pieces inspired by world travels. Start shopping September 15!

Mad for Plaid

I read in several September fashion magazines that plaid is a new neutral. It took a few minutes for me to wrap my mind around that statement, but now I’m embracing it fully! I can’t wait to use it in some of my interior designs.

Eggplant

Just call it oxblood of 2012’s deeper cousin. The shade of purple’s vibrancy is luxe and cozy at the same time. I couldn’t think of a more fab combination for a home! Here, the backsplash and wall color warm up the kitchen’s stainless steel range hood in this modern kitchen.
