from The New York Times
This is going to be one of the biggest design events of the spring! IFDA NY is hosting their second annual chair auction. I’m designing a chair and can’t wait to reveal it! Stay tuned to the blog to see lots of details and purchase your tickets now to get in on this hot event.
Charles James: Beyond Fashion The Met’s new Costume Institute exhibit is its inaugural one for the newly renovated institute. I’m excited to see all the detailed frocks in Charles James: Beyond Fashion. Fashion and interior design are intertwined, so I have a lot of respect for this legendary couturier’s work. It runs from May 8 – August 10 so I have plenty of time to fit in a trip to the Met!

Alpha Awards
The giving doesn’t stop at Housing Works’ Design on a Dime! There are many more ways the design world is helping others. Alpha Workshops is the nations only non-profit organization providing creative HIV-positive individuals with industry-specific training and employment in the decorative arts. Needless to say, the non-profit does amazing work and has many supporters in the design industry. Alpha honors design industry leaders and companies whom champion their work during the Alpha Awards on May 13.
