Tuesday’s Trends: Geological Patterns

Hello Fabulistas! I've professed my love for burl wood and agate. I just can't get enough of the beauty of nature's design! I don't just love natural work though... I also love designs that mimic natural work with a funky twist. Geological patterns are popping up all over runways and in home designs. Here are just a few of my favorite instances. Twisted faux bois This topsy-turvy take on the wood grain is so whimsical! There's little need for a piece of art within a stunning frame when this pattern covers the wall.

Vibrant Print

There isn't always ample room for precious tabletop objects, so I love this powerful piece of art! It's less of a commitment than geode-print wallpaper but still makes a huge impact in a space.

Cartoon Gems

Sometimes the cartoon versions of things are more fun! Stationary is one of those things, like hostess gifts, that I keep a stock of because I know I'll need it. I'll add these to my collection. They'd be worth hanging on to for the recipients.

Glam Tote

This beautiful agate tote bag would be an amazing catchall during spring. I'd use it to carry everything I need between appointments with clients!

Hand-Cut Paper Art

I'm constantly stunned by what artisans are crafting for Etsy. This hand-cut paper art of a geode design is colorful and breathtaking, the two things I look for in design.

#ROBINISM

Great design isn't always about symmetry, it's about balance.

Create equal but different visual interest on both sides of your space by playing with varying heights, weights, and quantities of your objects on opposing sides.
