Hello Fabulistas! While spring cleaning this season, I thought I’d tackle my beauty products. I have so many lipsticks, eye shadows and creams that I don’t use, I’m overwhelmed every morning! Last weekend I finally sat down and sorted through everything and finally got organized. I feel so much better and my mornings are going by much smoother. Here’s how I organized my beauty products: Toss, toss, toss! You know I’m a huge fan of tossing things you don’t need. This applies to products, as well. I’m a collector, I love to experiment with makeup trends and this means investing in tons of products. If I hadn’t used it in six months to a year, I tossed it. It was hard to do but I feel so much better! If you haven’t used it recently, trash it, and make room for fab new trends! Simplifying Life: Organize Your Beauty Products

Set up a clutter free makeup area While I already had a designated makeup area, it was so cluttered I couldn’t find anything. I had to start fresh. I cleared the table top and decided to start over. I like decorating and organizing with a clean slate, it gives me a fresh perspective and allows me to completely reorganize. Do you feel this way too? Simplifying Life: Organize Your Beauty Products

The “everyday” area I decided to split my makeup routine into two, every day and special occasion. My clutter began when everything was being placed together. I designated an area just for everyday makeup. I put my fabulous special occasion makeup aside in a drawer. If you don’t have a drawer, you can put things away in clear containers in your closet, so it’s easy to find later. Simplifying Life: Organize Your Beauty Products

The brushes I’m a nut about cleaning my brushes regularly. Whether you clean your brushes daily, weekly or bi-monthly, it has to be done. When you throw your brushes in a drawer you forget to clean them AND you can’t find them when you need to! I upcycled old candles, using them as brush holders. They’re pretty and useful! Plus, when everything is in sight, it’s easy to use daily, and easy to clean. Simplifying Life: Organize Your Beauty Products

Clear containers Once I sorted through my beauty products, I divided them into categories like lipstick, eye shadow, creams, glitters. You get the idea! Each category has its own clear container, so it’s easy to identify what’s inside. There’s nothing like looking for one particular shade when you’re in a rush and not being able to find it. Clear containers make my daily routine SO much easier! Simplifying Life: Organize Your Beauty Products
