Hello Fabulistas! These chilling temps have me reaching for hot meals and drinks. I’ve been frequenting my favorite New York spots for hot chocolate and pinning recipes for hearty, healthy soups. I love soup because it’s so filling and easy to sip on while you’re busy working. Here are just a few of my favorite recipes I currently have in rotation.
Chicken and wild rice soup
I adore my slow cooker. I make so many recipes in it while I’m busy working during the day. Wild rice makes such a great soup filler in this and lots of other recipes, too!
Buffalo quinoa vegetarian chili
There are so many fabulous quinoa recipes on Pinterest now and I’ve been giving a lot of them a try. I was shocked when I came across this recipe that combines chili, quinoa and a classic buffalo taste. It’s such a delightful surprise!

Vegan tortilla soup
Avocadoes are one of those foods that I crave every so often. I love the texture and filling taste. So this (vegan!) tortilla soup with avocadoes seemed like a natural choice for me. Trust me, it’s as tasty as it looks!

Spicy black vegan soup
Soups are always tastier when they have a bit of a kick to them. Black bean soup is already delicious, but the chipotle peppers add that extra bit of spice that takes it over the top.

French onion soup
I always go weak in the knees for French onion soup. You know that I love all things French and that goes for this classic, too! This might not be the healthiest of soups, but it’s worth a splurge every once in a while.
Chunky split pea soup
This savory recipe sounds like a great soup to have on hand even into the spring. (Although, I think we New Yorkers won’t feel spring for quite a while!) Honestly, split pea soup can be a little plain tasting, so this variation is a welcome addition to the list!

Thai coconut chicken noodle soup
There are so many amazing Thai restaurants in New York that it’s hard for me to pick my favorite. Coconut soups are always a sure bet when I stop by one of these spots. This one is pretty simple to fix!

Italian wedding soup
When I want a comfort soup, Italian wedding soup is always one of my top picks. There are just so many robust flavors. It’s so satisfying!

Julia Child’s potato leek soup
Who doesn’t love Julia Child? (Not anyone whose dinner party I want to attend!) Not only was she a wonderful personality, her recipes are delicious, too. This soup would be the perfect take-to-work on a cold winter’s day.
from Hello Giggles
Sweet potato lentil soup
Sweet potatoes are always a sure bet to satisfy my sweet tooth. A soup that’s packed with them was sure to make it on this list. This recipe with lentils makes for an interesting, delicious combination.
