I love the hunt! Popping in places, window shopping, searching for that one amazing item that you just can’t live without! Before heading over to the New York International Gift Fair (which was fabulous, by the way) this weekend, I was perusing a few furniture stores on the Upper West Side. I’m always on the lookout for new, interesting and super personal pieces for my clients. A set of gorgeous hurricanes in the window of Crate & Barrel lured me inside. It was then, from across the store, that I spotted the Tailor sofa in a gorgeous Poppy colored fabric. What an absolute knock-out! I fell in love.

The Tailor is a great classic shape and in this bold hue, it begs to be the center of attention in the room. And why not let it take center stage? It’s comfortable, it’s beautiful, and it’s a great size—there is also a love seat and a chair-and-a-half version if you have less space or if you’re looking for a full living room set. I didn’t fall in love with Tailor just for his good looks…I’m not that shallow! This punchy piece also touts a number of eco-friendly qualities as well. The kiln-dried hardword frame is certified sustainable, the seat cushions are made from soy-based polyfoam, made in the USA (North Carolina, to be exact) and is upholstered in a 100 percent hemp fabric. I guess you could say it’s naturally beautiful and simply fabulous! In the Poppy fabric, this sofa would really add some drama to a room, but if reds don’t fit the palette, it’s also available in a lovely Artichoke, below, as well as neutrals including Noir , White, Espresso and Charcoal .
