Hello Fabulistas! Around this time of year many of my clients start thinking about revamping their kitchens. Summer’s about to end and the holiday season will be here before we know it. So, we have to have fab kitchens for entertaining! The kitchen backsplash may seem like a small detail, but it can make a huge difference. There are several materials to choose from and the key is narrowing it down to what’s best for you and your home.
If you like to use every inch of space, you should think about investing in a magnetic backsplash. The magnetic backsplash is useful for hanging knives, clipping on a magnetic spatula holder, tacking recipes on so they are easy to see while cooking, or even posting your grocery list. There are so many ways you can use it!
If you love the industrial and commercial look, you may love stainless steel backsplashes. In addition to a fab look, stainless steel is easy to clean! That means you don’t have to worry while you’re cooking delicious meals, grease will wipe off easily!
Subway tiles were very trendy for a little while. The trend has died down a bit, but they’re still fab as a backsplash. I’m partial to white, but the tiles come in a variety of colors. The linear look is gorgeous in almost any kitchen!
Are you a fan of glass tiles? Many are scared of glass, installation and cleaning. If you have a professional installer, glass tiles are a gorgeous option. And, they can be very easy to clean. The translucent look in unbeatable!
Mosaics are a great way to add interest to your kitchen. The most popular size is the 2″ x 2″ squares, but you can always find round tiles or other patterns, depending on your look. Just think of all the color you can add to your kitchen!
What’s your favorite backsplash material? Are you looking for something conventional like mosaics and subway tiles, or something more unique like magnetic backsplashes?
