Relish the precious few days of summer with an Italian-inspired picnic in a park!
During my recent trip to Italy, I found myself enveloped in the countrys lavish aesthetics that later so dearly resonated in a film I saw. A film that became one of my absolute favorites this summer is A Bigger Splash with Tilda Swinton as a Rock Star retreating from her busy lifestyle to the sumptuous Italian island of Pantelleria. A Bigger Splash leaves you breathless with its fabulous production design.

The island itself and the set design of the film inspired me to recreate a simply fabulous picnic in a park, and celebrate yet another wonderful summer with the group of close friends, whom I always aim to excite.
A perfect wooden table covered with warm brown paper, secured down with clothes pins (oh, the Italian simplicity!!) can serve as a great base for a stress-free, laid-back meal. Clear glass water bottles and mugs tied with a hemp string pair well with pristine white ceramics. Id say this is the best way to serve Grilled Eggplant Parmesan and Fusilli with Summer Tomato Sauce.
And BRAVO! to the wardrobe in A Bigger Splash! Tilda is one chic girl in her airy skirts and gorgeously colored fabrics.
If you ever go for simplicity, I recommend doing this the Italian way. Wrap your fabulous self in a luscious shawl the color of Sicilian water. What better way to greet your guests to celebrate the weekend? After all, you ARE a rock star who deserves an Italian getaway!
