Hello Fabulistas! The holiday season is approaching quickly, so I’m prepping my home for entertaining. I like to get my home ready slowly so I’m not in a mad rush right before Thanksgiving. The details are very important when entertaining. They make all the difference! One thing I notice when I visit friends and family are coasters. Coasters are in heavy use at every event, so they’re highly visible. This year I’m investing in one of a kind, artistic coasters. Here are my favorites I’ve found so far. Clever coasters I adore throwing something unexpected into my decor, and that includes clever coasters. Sometimes I have custom printed coasters made with jokes I know my friends will love. Depending on the crowd, I switch up my coasters. Details as small as coasters can make your guests smile! Screen Shot 2013-11-04 at 12.01.19 PM

Natural materials I love incorporating natural materials into my spaces. Organic elements have a comfortable feel and are pleasing to the eye. I found these Agate coasters, which are made from minerals found in southern Brazil. Not only are they colorful and pretty, they have a great story to tell your guests! Coasters with details Another way to impress your guests is to search for coasters that have details that reflect your personality. Engraved coasters on wood or cork are the perfect way to add intricate details to your home, without filling up the entire space with these details. Sometimes I want just a touch of Victorian, without a Victorian room. robin3

Reversible coasters I like to give my guests a little bit of a surprise. While I love when things match, throwing in an unexpected twist is always fun. I found these coasters that are uniform on one side with patterns, textures and colors on the other side. Not only is it fun for guests, it also helps them distinguish which drink is theirs! Graphics Graphic coasters and accessories are a great way to punch up your place. I love these hexagonal coasters because they can add pattern to a solid and textured room, without being overwhelming. They can be placed together before guests arrive to create an accessory on your table, and look just as great when taken apart! Don’t they remind you of some fab vintage tile floor? Have you thought about which coasters you’ll be using this holiday season? Do you stick with one set of coasters or do you have several?
