DoaD Vendor Spotlight: Samuel & Sons, Donghia, The Ruffled Window

Hello Fabulistas! My team and I are busy preparing for a spectacular room vignette for Housing Works’ big night, Design on a Dime 2014. There’s so much work and giving that goes in to each interior designer’s display. I have many wonderful vendors that have generously donated beautiful products for this event that I adore. (Follow this link to buy tickets now.) Over the next few weeks leading up to this event on April 24, I’ll be featuring many of my terrific vendors, and maybe even giving you a sneak peek of products available in my booth. Here’s a first look at three of those vendors.

Samuel & Sons Passementerie

Samuel & Sons is my go-to brand for trim. I’ve used them on many projects for many years. Their entire business is dedicated to trim, one of my favorite details in designing. To me, trim is the finishing touch of a completed design.

Samuel & Sons have every type of trim imaginable, just look at this wall of tassels alone. They are innovative in their use of materials, creating trim from seashells, glass and wood beads, and even feathers. With all of these interesting and beautiful options, I still love to make it my own and custom design as much as I can and Samuel & Sons gives me that option. There’s nothing they can’t produce, like these custom tassels I just made for a client’s window treatment.

Donghia

Donghia has some of the most luxurious and fashion-forward fabrics and furnishings in the industry. They are truly one of my favorites. They’ve generously supplied me with some beautiful fabric that I’m going to use to make throw pillows for my vignette. They’ll make the other pieces pop. I want everyone to walk by my booth and go, “Wow!” Pillows are a great way to add that kind of drama.

The Ruffled Window

I love The Ruffled Window! They are my workroom that fabricates many of the window treatments, bedding, and pillows for my projects. The owner, Robin Feuer, looks at every detail, and puts her heart and soul in to every piece she makes. Don’t be fooled by the name… She doesn’t really do ruffled windows—although she does do whatever an interior designer creates! The workroom is providing custom fabrication for my throws and pillows at this event, which will help give my booth a custom look.
