Happy Monday, Fabulistas! I’ve been thinking a lot about lighting. A well-lit room feels happier, so when designing spaces I try to incorporate just the right amount of light. I love to use pairs of lights in my designs. The pairs make spaces feel luxe and upscale, and they provide double the amount of light! Here are a few areas of the home where I love to use lighting pairs. Foyer Table Lamps A pair of table lamps on a foyer table makes the space feel cozy. I often place the lamps on either side of the console table, anchored by a mirror or piece of large-scale art leaning against the wall. A mirror is a great way to amplify the light! Dining Area Chandeliers An elegant way to accent your dining table is to install a pair of chandeliers or pendants. This is a great substitute for an oversized fixture, and it makes a statement. Depending on your look, you can pick a traditional chandelier or simple pendant lights. Tried and true pairs of lighting

Powder Room Sconces A pair of sconces is the perfect way to light a powder room. Powder rooms are often small and there isn’t much room for other types of light fixtures. You can install sconces on either side of the mirror for a glam look. Tried and true pairs of lighting

Bedroom Reading Lamps A good pair of reading lamps is a must in the bedroom. I love to read before I go to bed and prefer a beautiful pair of lamps to light my space. For great bedside lamps, you can use table lamps, floor lamps or wall-mounted sconces. Tried and true pairs of lighting

Living Room Floor Lamps Flanking floor lamps is a great way to highlight an important piece in a living area. I often use floor lamps to anchor a sofa or a fireplace. These large-scale elements not only light the highlighted piece, they also serve as a sculptural element, all while adding a little flare to the space! Tried and true pairs of lighting
