When I have the room, I love to put in a kitchen island if there’s enough room. You won’t believe what it will do for your space. I love this kitchen, which had room for not only one, but two!

Never forget storage when you’re planning any remodeling project! Hidden storage is your best friend, so embrace it. Here, this slide-out drawer keeps paper towels and dish towels out of sight. Think about slide-out drawers for spice racks, and other storage. I’ve even seen slide-out drawers for dog bowls!

One of the first things I like to do with clients is pick out the kitchen sink. So many times its style leads us to all the other style choices in the kitchen! Like with this hammered copper beauty, I’d go with a neutral, rural theme. Plus, who doesn’t love a huge farm sink?!

Make it your own!

Last but definitely not least, you should make your space feel like yours! If you have a collection of fine china, think about displaying it on open shelves. If you have a vintage wine collection, think about displaying it in some creative way. You spend so much time in the kitchen, that you should feel as home in it as any other room in your home!
