Porcelain Flowers With Handle

$1,500.00

Mary Ann Strandell's paintings examine the evolving relationship between architecture, nature, and chinoiserie to portray a sense of time and place through location and history. The decorative artifact plays a major role in her subject matter exemplifying the aesthetic hallmarks which connote particular eras and culture. This digital print, originating from an oil painting, is further manipulated in the computer such that it appears to be slightly in motion, slightly not entirely present, another consideration in depicting time and space, confined to a 2D format.
