A Celebration of Lighting and Design

Hello Fabulistas!

What an incredible start of the Fall season it’s been! Here’s my inside scoop and an exclusive update on recent events.

Just a few weeks ago was the NYC grand reveal of Minka Group’s Robin Baron Lighting Collections. As the official NYC launch of my new lighting collection, Minka Group hosted a fabulous Open House event at their Metropolitan Lighting Showroom, during What’s New, What’s Next (WNWN) at New York Design Center.

I don’t know if I can even express in words how much this means to me… The Metropolitan Lighting showroom has been my go-to resource for lighting for so many years and seeing my very own lighting collections front and center in their space… It was a marvelous and surreal experience.

Alecia Wesner of George Kovacs commented "It was great to see Robin's new collection for the Minka Group brands, in-person, at the New York Design Center's biggest event of the year, What's New, What's Next."

Working with my incredible team, the special Open House launch event in the Metropolitan Lighting Showroom felt like the quintessential epicenter of WNWN, the crowning event where it seemed like the entire New York Metro design community popped by to celebrate my lighting design debut while folks danced their heart out to the DJ’s tunes and enjoyed delicious catered delights, plus a special signature drink in my honor, “The Barontini”.

Even Jim Druckman, President of the New York Design Center, had something to say! “Robin Baron’s expansive new line features pieces that serve as jewelry for any room. It is no surprise to see such excitement in the line as it mimics the traits of the designer herself. Robin has always been a standout in our industry, be it through her work, her product designs, or her presence as an industry leader. I am happy to see Robin Baron’s new lighting showcased in the Metropolitan Lighting Showroom at The New York Design Center.”

Our special guests included several of my design friends and colleagues, fellow showroom and industry peeps - all of whom joined in the celebration of my new lighting collections with The Minka Group.

Our event also included visits from press and media attendees who stopped by for photos and to ask about my new lighting collections inspiration - which as many of you know, is inspired by one of my greatest passions…JEWELRY!

I believe that lighting, like jewelry, should be bold and fabulous as the “illuminated jewels” for your home. Wherever I travel, I am always drawn to vintage, unique and specialty pieces. In the same way that a beautiful piece of jewelry defines a fashionable look, lighting transforms a room from simple to stunning. I feel that my new lighting designs for Minka Group make that statement - by punctuating a space, elevating a design and giving each room that finishing touch that homeowners crave.

My collections with Minka Group consist of six illustrious designs - Astor, Chelsea, Gramercy, SoHo, Sutton and Tribeca, an homage to neighborhoods in my hometown of New York City. Notice the starburst shape inspiring the stunning Gramercy and Sutton designs as well as the elegant loops reflected in the Astor and Yorkville designs. These were inspired by my Signature Hardware Collection and my licensed hardware collection with Hamilton Sinkler. The stylish SoHo design incorporates leather trim, a nod to my fashion background. and pairs exquisitely with my UnZipped Pillow Collection with The Pillow Goddess™ .

This year’s What's New What's Next was truly a phenomenal experience. My entire day was a rollercoaster of elation, and I have to say, I was incredibly honored that our four-hour launch event was so well attended and allowed me to thank each and everyone who came out to show their support.

I know that this event will be one of my personal highlights of 2022. But I have more exciting news coming soon so stay tuned, Fabulistas - I will have new lighting collections launching with The Minka Group in January 2023!
