London Calling: Blissliving Home

Bliss Living | Simplifyingfabulous.com With all of the hoopla surrounding the recent royal wedding, it’s no surprise that London was the destination-of-inspiration for the Blissliving Home's newest collection, London Calling. The globetrotting journey's of Blissliving Home Founder/CEO Mei Xu’s are often the inspiration for the brand’s beautiful textiles, tabletop accessories, and decorative accents. Perhaps I’m so in love with the products from Blissliving Home because I connect with this sentiment. Travel inspires, opens the eyes, awakens and transports us! In my own home, many of the accessories that I love so dearly are ones that I discovered during far-flung travels...some expensive, some as cheap as a coffee. Bliss Living | simplifyingfabulous.com The London Calling collection of traditional homewares like bedding, area rugs and decorative pillows, as well as fun accessories like aprons, wall decals and candles, illustrate that the city is so much more than foggy skies and tasty teas. The royal crown makes an appearance...or many, Major design shopping centers like Portobello Road Market and Kings Road, meccas for great design – and Blissliving brings that sought-after style into their products. (And if London isn’t your style, past collections include inspirations from energetic Miami, exotic Arabia, and euphoric Iceland). One thing I love about this city’s typical style is that it’s subtle, with color making an appearance as an accent instead of as a main character – just as the sun sporadically pops from a cloudy London sky. Mint green and tangerine orange pop up throughout the collection, but the muted tones are warm and comforting, enticing you to take a load off and cuddle up with Earl Grey and book. Using a muted color palette is perfect for those who are indecisive (much easier to switch colored throw pillows than it is to re-paint an entire wall), or for those that are still gaining their decorating confidence (not many of us have the courage to pull off a room a la Mario Buatta). Like everything…”neutral” is relative

Neutral is only neutral in relationship to the rest of the space. Whether it’s a color, pattern or style, everything is affected by what is surrounding it
