Hello Fabulistas! I’m seeing essential design elements emerge from within the walls of my bedroom suite for families at the Ronald McDonald House of LI. We’re in the process of installing a storage unit that also creates extra seating for the space. My vision is all about making the space homey, comfortable, and happy for the families who stay here. Furniture should be functional and beautiful at the same time. Jay DeMauro and his team at Artique Glass Studio are helping to fulfill my vision and bring my designs to life. They’re much more than a glass studio fabricating mirror and glass… They also build cabinetry and furniture, as well. They graciously have been a part of this project by making my custom designed bath vanity and medicine cabinet, and my fab window seat.

The room is really coming together with the dark-stained ribbon mahogany of these built-in pieces. They add an additional layer of sophistication to these essential storage units. As you can see, the finish is already bringing warmth to the bedroom suite and my renderings into reality for Project Design 2014 !

To me, lighting fixtures are like jewelry. They bring out design details in any space. Talk about layering design elements in a room… Lighting allows you to create an important point of view. Troy Lighting always has high-style options and I was thrilled that they offered to donate my vanity light of choice for the bathroom. This attention-commanding Blink sconce has graceful lines, s cool design, and a classic bronze finish, all of which bring out the rich tones and the warm feeling of the en suite bath.
