Bon weekend! Today I'm chatting with Nicole Gibbons, the creative mastermind behind the fabulous blog So Haute. Nicole has popped up in publications like InStyle, Apartment Therapy and Elle Decor. She also collaborated with some of the most well-known brands, such as Target and One Kings Lane. To sum it up, this fab female has more to share than we could possibly fit in one Fab Friday post...but here's a small taste of her fabulous life and the amazing work that makes So Haute one of the best blogs out there!

Robin Baron: Welcome, Nicole! Tell us about So Haute. Nicole Gibbons: So Haute launched in 2008 and is a go-to resource for all things home. I cover everything from decorating tips and trends to my favorite product finds and all of the fabulous people, places and things that inspire me. RB: What inspired you to start your blog? NG: I initially started blogging as a creative outlet but as my audience quickly grew It transformed from being somewhat of a personal inspiration journal into a useful resource that inspires my readers to design a life they love and to do it with style. RB: When you are not blogging, what are you up to? NG: I love to travel particularly to beach destinations where I can completely distress and relax. When I’m in New York, I love going to museums, dining out and I also love cooking and entertaining friends and family at home. RB: What kind of doors has blogging opened up for you? NG: My blog has really given me a voice in the design world and I’m now recognized as an expert in the industry. I’ve been featured in media outlets such as HGTV, InStyle, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Real Simple, Better Homes & Gardens, The Washington Post, Apartment Therapy, Lonny, The Nest, Elle Decor and many more. I’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate on special projects with top home and lifestyle brands like Target and One Kings Lane. RB: What’s your favorite spot in New York? NG: It doesn’t get much better than Central Park in the summer time.

RB: If you were invited to the Oscar’s, who would design your red carpet look? NG: Now that is a tough question! I’m all about figure flattery and I think Stella McCartney's evening looks are all about enhancing your curves which is great for a red carpet look. I’d also be perfectly happy wearing something from Tom Ford, Lanvin or Michael Kors. RB: What’s the greatest advice you’ve ever received? NG: This saying from Oprah Winfrey about building your personal brand has always stuck with me: “Put your name on nothing that you cannot control. Because you need to maintain your voice in all things.” RB: What’s your number one place to vacation? NG: St Barths!

RB: How would you describe your own home décor? NG: My own home décor is a juxtaposition of both traditional and modern design elements with lots of eclectic touches throughout. It evokes a very lived in feel and exudes a sense of effortless chic.

RB: What does fabulous mean to you? NG: Fabulous is feeling confident in your own skin and being totally happy in your surroundings.
